Crown lengthening
Crown lengthening is sometimes done to improve a “gummy” smile because the teeth appear short even though the teeth may be of proper length. Crown lengthening may be used to remove excess gum and bone tissue is reshaped to expose more of the natural tooth.
Alveoloplasty
- The upper lip will be less distended after the surgery.
- In the case that the bone extrude too much and obstruct the insertion of removable denture, then before arranging the denture, excess bone tissue should be removed to avoid pressing of denture.
The surgery of gum bone is not really scary.
• It is only a small surgery that the patients may not feel pain as anesthetic is used when the surgery is done.
